We sail on Lough Cullaunyheeda which is located in the scenic historic area of East Clare, in the heart of Irelands Mid-West region. Located 2 miles outside the picturesque village of Kilkishen the lake is 1.5 miles long and is an ideal, safe sailing location particularly for beginners. It is within easy traveling distance from Limerick City (20 miles), Shannon Town (15 miles) and Ennis Town (12 miles).
Getting to Kilkishen:
From Limerick: Take the N18 for 3 miles and take the R492 from Cratloe through Sixmilebridge, heading for Kilmurry, and on to Kilkishen.
From Ennis: Take either the R352 to Tulla and turn right onto the R492.
From Shannon: Take the N12 and turn Left at Hurlers Cross for Sixmilebridge and go through Sixmilebridge into Kilkishen.
From Kilkishen:
Take the the Tulla road out of kilkishen after approx 1 1/2 miles (you will see the lake to your left) take the next left turn, follow this road for 1/2 mile corssing a small river bridge and take the next left into the forest and on to a gravel road, follow this road to its end (400yds), and youre there.
