Syllabus
The Course Content includes the following elements;
Accident Assessment
Basic Life Support - cardiopulmonary resuscitation - choking - stroke
Use of an AED
Unconscious Casualties
Blood Loss
Treatment for Shock
Fractures – Sprains - Strains - Dislocations
Common Medical Emergencies including:
o Asthma
o Diabetes
o Epilepsy
o Hyperventilation
o Fainting
o Poisoning
Identify and care for casualties suffering from water (sports) related issues
o Cold water near drowning – wet/dry drowning
o Immersion hypothermia
Identify and care for casualties who are burned
Identify the appropriate equipment to carry in a first aid kit
